Stampings and Assemblies of Components for the Medical Industry

As medical devices become more advanced and complex so too does the precision of their internal components. At OMNI Engineering, Inc., we specialize in precision miniature and micro miniature stampings that are ideally suited for the precision requirements of the medical industry.

The project highlighted here consists of two individual contacts, the first, known as a Bourns connector was formed from .0017" 302 stainless steel. It featured dimensions of .161" in length, .218" in width, with an outside diameter of .142" (±.002"). It also required silver plating and was manufactured in two part numbers.

The second part is known as an Elcon connector, this part was formed from a .006" thick C17200 beryllium copper alloy, and C51000 phosphor bronze alloy. Measuring .358" to .492" in length, .337" to .659" in width, and .032" to .036" in height, it was manufactured to tolerances of ±.0003". The Elcon connector also required nickel, tin, and gold plating, and was manufactured in three part numbers. All parts received dimensional, gage, and gram force inspections, as well as F.O.V. Smartscope inspection.
